Winter Heating Season Is Coming

Fire wood stacked neatly on pallets

The cold is on its way and winter is coming. This means that many people around here will be firing up their wood stoves for home heating next month.

Here at Country Wood Products we are busy processing fire wood to prepare for the heating season. We have set up racks to measure out a proper face cord of fire wood precisely. This will ensure that our customers get exactly what they are paying for every single time.

And, as an added bonus, we put a few extra pieces of fire wood on top of every face cord. This guarantees every customer is satisfied with their purchase.

Our fire wood is sitting on top of pallets to keep it off the ground and dry. This allows plenty of air flow under the wood as well as around and through the stacks.

For this year's fire wood we are processing dead standing oak. After harvesting the logs we bring it back and split it. Then we stack it in our kiln to dry it out fully before it is ready for sale. This process takes a few days but ensures that our fire wood is ready for use when you get it.

For those on a budget or who are stocking up early, we can also sell some "as is", which means a bit damp. Damp oak sells for $60 per face cord. You can leave it out in the wind and sun and it will be ready to burn by November.

Some pine, poplar and other various fire wood species may be available throughout the season as we do clean up jobs for dead fallen trees.
